YERBURY SHOOT IN THE CITY

Yesterday, hence only a few images currently posted I was among 4 other delegates to be on the Yerbury Shoot in the City wedding course in Edinburgh.

So how can a 6 hour drive each way for a 1 day course be justified?

Well for me this was a simple decision, firstly the family wanted to go and see the castle and more importantly for me a course with undoubtedly the friendliest couple in photography, whose skills I wanted to learn.

So how did the day go?

Firstly we met in a coffee shop which is always a great way to start a shoot, double espresso for me to give me that all steady camera control, which then led us onto a full day of shooting with a fabulous couple.

Starting at one location and then moving round to 5-6 locations over the day gave it a nice feel and also set challenges, as we all know we don’t always get that lovely venue every time.

There was no flash used, little to no-use of reflectors, it was about setting the scene and working with the couple, and no the models weren’t always posed for us, we all had to take it in turns to pose the couple and pick the location for ourselves with guidance if required.

So why this course over others?

For me its simplicity, learn to walk ……. , plus who doesn’t look at either Trevor or Faye’s photos and say I wish I could shoot like that?

This course to me is a must for not only new comers looking at getting into wedding photography but also seasoned photographers, there is something to be learned from the imagery and poses even if it is to fine tune your flow.

Some more images from the day will go up once I’ve had more than 10 minutes to look at them all, but for now please enjoy the 3 below.
